1) Will I incur any costs as the plant operator in a pilot project?
Yes, there are costs that depend on the effort involved. We estimate the costs of the pilot project based on your defined success criteria. The pilot project and its success criteria should be chosen so that it can be implemented within a core duration of 6 weeks. The pilot project will allow you to determine whether Maximo Renewables is the right strategic decision for your operations.
2) Why is the duration of the pilot project limited to 6 weeks?
The six-week period begins when the selected systems are connected to IBM Maximo Renewables and transmit data. Six weeks represents a realistic timeframe to implement the three jointly defined success criteria.
3) How are the selected renewable energy plants (wind, PV, BSS) connected to Maximo Renewables?
To ensure the efficient onboarding of the selected renewable energy systems, we have prepared pre-defined questions. Maximo Renewables supports all common manufacturers of wind, PV, and BESS systems. For optimal data quality, it is recommended to connect Maximo Renewables as close to the machine as possible, for example, via OPC, Modbus, FTP, or API interfaces from the OEM portal.
4) From what size EE portfolio does the use of Maximo Renewables become worthwhile?
The use of Maximo Renewables is economically viable from a plant capacity of approximately 50 MW, especially for portfolios with mixed domains such as wind, PV and BESS.
5) Is it possible to run Maximo Renewables on-premise? ...
We understand that you want to retain control and sovereignty over your operations. Maximo Renewables is designed as a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and primarily deployed as a cloud solution. As a SaaS product, IBM takes over the operation of the infrastructure, including hardware, configuration, updates, and maintenance, for you without any additional effort. We would be happy to advise you on the options available for securely storing your plant data on-premises.
6) How secure is my data in Maximo Renewables?
The security of your data is our highest priority at IBM Maximo Renewables. As a cloud-based Software-as-a-Service solution, IBM Maximo Renewables meets the highest security and compliance standards.
